So, yea, I recommend Option 1.
The Kit
Over time, I have accumulated a wide range of lighting options. Soft boxes provide a gentle and even light source, while portable LED Panels and flashes allow for a stronger and more dramatic effect.
My lens selection spans the focal range of 16mm to 600mm, including 58mm and 100mm macro lenses that can capture up to 2x magnification of the detail on a subject.
Behind The Scenes
I work out of a bright and spacious guesthouse with large windows casting natural light in all directions. I pride myself on bringing together handmade and found objects for my backgrounds and props.
Thrift store finds, smooth rock slabs, discarded tableware.
The best prop ever found was a seven foot wedge of granite countertop!
Adding a human element, or some kind of movement takes images to the next level of engagement. The mind imagines eating, as if it were holding the chopsticks itself.
Sometimes, the subject calls for a dark and moody setting.
Other times, a bright, uplifting scene emphasizes the character and emotional sense of the food. I have the tools to achieve the look you want!
Disclaimer:
Let’s be honest. I’m not going to pretend I’m a rockstar photographer with heaps of experience. More like a scrappy upstart with something to prove.
I know the feeling of spending big money on a dinner and thinking, “Holy macaroni, that was underwhelming.”
That’s why, when I’m cooking, I go to great lengths to deliver the best meal possible. I bring the same dedication to photography.
You can trust that with my kitchen experience, I know when to dive in or step aside; anticipating the moment that will showcase you best.
